The Coronavirus pandemic continued to cause great deaths everywhere it passes and recently, killed 630 people in the last 24 hours in New York State alone according to Andrew Cuomo, the Governor on Saturday .

This is too much of a blow but it was expected as the state is getting to the apex of the pandemic which is gonna be “battle of the mountain top” according to the Governor, “the number one point of engagement of the enemy “ he emphasized.Till now,the state accounts for most of the tested positive cases in the USA reaching 113,704 and with 3,565 deaths of which 2,624 are from New York City.

Though, two third of people hospitalized in New York State have been discharged, the number of new cases continued to rise and just last Friday,a jump of 10,841 was recorded making Long Island the next Coronavirus target, “it is like a fire spreading“ said the Governor during his daily press conference.

However, the state has been receiving many helps from everywhere to help in tackling this pandemic. An all staffed and equipped US federal government 2,500 make shift beds hospital at Javits convention center to help New York City. USNS Comfort ship hospital for 1000 patients from the federal government to New York City.1000 ventilations donation from China;which arrived at JFK airport on Saturday, to supplement federal government’s help at Javits center and other 3 make field hospitals in the boroughs. 140 ventilators from Governor Kate Brown of the state of Oregon. And not forgetting the Samaritan’s Purse 68 field beds in partnership with mount Sinai set up at Central Park and others all over the state.

Unfortunately,Coronavirus pandemic has affected almost everyone in the state as people are ordered to stay at home;except for essential jobs and services, practice social distancing and thus affecting their economic and social life . “It’s really difficult for me and my family as we can’t work or sell our products,” said one street vendor.
