Joao Doria elected as New Mayor of Sao Paulo ,the biggest city of Brazil

For the first time in Sao Paulo,a Mayor is elected in the first round of the election. Joao Doria Junior of PSDB political party;a businessman and a Tv presenter won the 2016 election in Sao Paulo,the biggest city in Brazil.He got 53.3% of the total vote beating the actual Mayor Fernando Haddad (PT Party) who came second with 16.7%. Celso Russomanno (PRB Party) who was leading the poll right from the beginning came third with 13.6% while Marta Suplicy (PT Party) 10.1% and Luiza Erundina (PSOL) 3.2% came fourth and fifth respectively.
Doria had about 5% of the poll in the beginning and with the support of Geraldo Alckmin,the actual Governor of Sao Paulo state and also of the same political party,he was able to rise up quickly and beat the other candidates.Immediately after voting on Sunday the 2nd,he,his wife and the governor went to thank God at the Santo Antonio Catholic Church of Caxingui.

After the confirmation of the victory,Doria made his speech at the party`s place in Sao Paulo thanking everyone that helped him out and principally some senators,the party`s last president of Brazil, Fernando Henrique Cardozo and governor Alckmin who probably will be running as the next president of Brazil.
