Greek Independence Day in New York

The Greek Independence day celebration in New York has started since 1938 in commemoration of the independence declaration gotten from Ottoman Empire on March 25th 1821.The New York City Parade took place on a different day on 5th Avenue from 64th street to 79th street organized by the Hennenic Societies of greater New York.There were many people who witnessed the parade along the avenue and lots of Greek colorful dresses,clothes,flags and foods with the general protection from the NYPD.
