Because of a problem in transmission system, Con Edison ( company responsible for electricity supply in New York City ) says some areas in New York like Harlem, the upper West side and upper East side lost their electricity supply at about 5.13am affecting some services including some train stations. Some parts of Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island were also affected.

Although, the supply has been restored as at 6.41am, the aftermath continued to show up as some subway elevators are still being closed like the ones on 63rd street with 3rd avenue and some stations still affected. The traffic situation on 3rd avenue is very heavy and some policemen are helping out with the traffic flow early morning of today, Friday 7th.

It is really a hard situation for New Yorkers as they had just went through the aftermath of tropical storm Isaias which devastated some parts of the city 2 days earlier, destroying many cars, trees falling down and up to 3 death.
