World-renowned entertainment company Cirque du Soleil is set to make a triumphant return to São Paulo with ‘Alegría – In a New Light,’ a contemporary reimagining of one of its most iconic productions. Running from August 20 to November 8, 2026, the acclaimed spectacle will take over the iconic Big Top installed at Parque Villa-Lobos (Av. Queiroz Filho, 1.315 – Bolsão B, Vila Hamburguesa).
Originally premiered in 1994, ‘Alegría’ became a global milestone, enchanting more than 14 million spectators across 255 cities. Re-energized for its 25th anniversary, ‘In a New Light’ brings refreshed acrobatics, vibrant new costume designs, updated musical arrangements, and immersive stage sets, while preserving the soul and Grammy-nominated soundtrack that made the original show a masterpiece.
The production explores the timeless struggle between the old order and the youth seeking change, celebrating hope, resilience, and renewal. São Paulo audiences will experience high-flying aerial acts, breathtaking contortion, and signature clowning under the Grand Chapiteau.
