Famous American golf player Tiger Woods was involved in a single-car roll over crash with multiple leg injuries while driving North on Hawthorne in California on February 23. He crashed his car around 7.15 am in Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles, California. He was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
but with no life threatening situation.
Dr. Anish Mahajan, chief medical officer and interim CEO of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center assured everyone Tiger Woods is recovering from a long surgical procedure to repair significant orthopedic injuries to his right lower extremity. Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones were stabilized by inserting a rod into the tibia. Additional injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle were stabilized with a combination of screws and pins.
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, Woods was driving at a “relatively greater speed than normal” when the crash occurred and was rescued and taken to the hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department officers. The front end of the 2021 Hyundai Genesis SUV Woods was driving was completely destroyed while the interior was “more or less intact.”
