‘The occupation kills children’: Gaza holds an art festival to expose Israel’s crimes

A group of Palestinian artists launched a festival in the coastal enclave aimed at raising awareness about the hardships faced by local children amidst the Israeli assaults in Gaza.
Entitled “The Occupation Kills Children,” the festival was organized by 26 local cultural and non-governmental institutions in Gaza. It took place amidst the ruins of houses in Dir al-Balah, a central area of Gaza that was completely destroyed by Israeli warplanes last month.
Some artists created graffiti paintings on the remaining rubble, while others presented sculptures depicting the fears experienced by children during the Israeli aggression on Gaza. Additionally, a group of children performed a poignant theatrical play portraying a mother who tragically lost all her children in a sudden Israeli airstrike.

Gripos de artistas palestinos lançou um festival na Faixa de Gaza com o objetivo de conscientizar sobre as dificuldades enfrentadas pelas crianças locais em meio aos ataques israelenses.
Intitulado “A Ocupação Mata Crianças”, o festival foi organizado por 26 instituições culturais e não governamentais locais em Gaza. Ele ocorreu em meio às ruínas de casas em Dir al-Balah, uma área central de Gaza que foi completamente destruída por aviões de guerra israelenses no mês passado.
Alguns artistas criaram pinturas de grafite nos escombros restantes, enquanto outros apresentaram esculturas retratando os medos vivenciados pelas crianças durante a agressão israelense em Gaza. Além disso, um grupo de crianças realizou uma emocionante peça teatral retratando uma mãe que perdeu tragicamente todos os seus filhos em um repentino ataque aéreo israelense.
