November 7 would be a day to be remembered in the USA electoral history as Joe Biden, 77, was able to get more than the necessary 270 electoral votes defeating the actual President Donald Trump. Biden made a victory speech same night at Wilmington Delaware, calling for unity and promising to heal the soul of the nation and to govern the country as a President for all Americans even as Trump refuses to concede while promising to fight in a law suit and claiming election fraud which has denied him a victory .
Many of Biden’s supporters gathered in some cities all over the country to celebrate that victory. They had waited long for that announcement which didn’t come on the Election Day ; November 3rd, and now they are celebrating all over the country; at Trump Tower, Columbus Circle, Times Square in New York, in front of White House in Washington DC and Philadelphia. They carried “BidenHarris” signs and some “You are fired,” “TrumpPence out now,” cars honking and people were seen jubilating and banging pans along some streets.
As of Saturday, November 7th, according to AP count, Biden has gotten 290 electoral votes passing the needed 270 leaving Trump with 214 electoral votes even as some states results are still expected. Biden had added Pennsylvania and Nevada to his winning votes to get the 290.
Significantly, many records are been broken in this election year. Biden is the first President ever with the highest votes; 74 million, his Vice President Kamala Harris will be the first woman and a person of color in that position, while Donald Trump is the first sitting President with highest vote ever; 70 million.
Even with the media projecting Biden as the new 46th President of USA, everyone is still waiting for the official confirmation and probably have to wait till the outcome of whatever law suits filed by the Trump campaign which is also demanding a recounts in some key states.
