The Javits center was opened as a COVID-19 vaccination center on January 13, 2021 for people in New York and now, it operates on a 24 hours 7 days a week and requires scheduled appointments to get any of the three COVID-19 vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. People are advised not to arrive no more than one hour before their appointment.
By the beginning of April 6, people aged 16 plus would be eligible for vaccination in New York and as of Friday (2), New York has administered nine million, nine hundred and twenty five thousand, two hundred and thirty two total doses with 19.2 percent of New Yorkers completing their vaccine series.
Significantly, COVID hospitalizations has dropped to four thousand, five hundred and forty and with just sixty three COVID-19 deaths on Friday(2) and because of that many performing arts and entertainment venues are reopening with government required percentage while attendees must continue social distancing, using face coverings, going through health screening and other health protocols.
