This year 2018 midterm elections in the USA happened on the 6th of November throughout some states and territories. The elections were for 35 of the 100 Senate seats, all the 435 seats in the house of representatives,36 states and 3 territories for the governorships and after the votes count, the Democrats won the House of Representatives while the Republicans expanded their control over the Senate. The Democrats won 39 more seats in the house of representatives and one seat is still not decided yet as of the time of this writing and thus giving them back the control of the house while the Republicans gained one more seat in the Senate from 51 to 52 and one still to be decided yet. There were many complaints about problems with scanners and delays in voting time in some voting places. For instance, some voters spent between 30 minutes and 1hour to cast their votes at Marlborough Gardens on Marlborough Road in Brooklyn. One of the two scanners broke down there and it took a long time to get it replaced. The two principal political parties both claimed victories for their sides and we know that there was a big turn out of voters from both sides and also much money was spent during the campaigns and Tv advertisements. The principal subjects during the campaigns were immigration, abortion, health care act of 2017, tax cuts, jobs act of 2017,Trump administration, gun control, energy policy and Russian interference in the election.
