Africans won 93rd Sao Silvestre Marathon with a Brazilian in 12th place
2017 wasn‘ t a good year for Brazilian marathoners as none of them was in any podiums both the women and the men .The last marathon race;Sao Silvestre, held in Sao Paulo on December 31st 2017 was won by kenyan Flomena Cheyech (For women ) and Ethiopian Dawitt Admasu ( For men). This wasn‘ t something good. It might probably be due to the geographical location in which the Africans are placed;in the altitude, which help them to train for any race and thus, getting better adapations. Dawitt who had won the 2014 edition, won the 2017 race with 44minutes 15seconds ,Belay Bezabh also of Ethiopia in second place with 44min 33sec while Edwin Rotich of kenya came third with 44min.35sec. Edwin had won the 2012 and 2013 editions. The best placed Brazilian was Ederson Vilela;27 years old,in 12th place for the men and 32 years old Joziane Cardozo came 10th for the women. And of course there was the traditional race for the Paralytic.
