Vaccination of adults aged 65 to 69 years according to Arturo Granados, spokesman for Minsa, are currently taking place in Lima, Peru. 62 immunization centers have been implemented that will be distributed in 50 districts of Lima and Callao.
Let us remember that, currently – throughout the country – people over 70 years of age are being immunized in parallel to those with Down syndrome and patients receiving hemodialysis.
Meanwhile, Minister Óscar Ugarte, estimates that in the coming weeks, the inoculation of people between 60 and 64 years old will begin, in order to complete the immunization of the elderly.
It should be noted also, that, Peru’s Ministry of Health, plans by July, more than 5 million people in the country will have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Among them would be the elderly, people with comorbidities, members of indigenous communities, firefighters and health personnel; as well as the National Police and the Armed Forces that are front line workers.
