A successful live broadcast that turned into an album! And then, “Tudo Vira Reggae”, a MANEVA project, was born , in partnership with Universal Music, GTS and Base 4, and which comes out today (1st), on World Reggae Day, in all music applications.

The heavy repertoire, which brings together exquisite works of Brazilian popular music in extraordinary reinterpretations, features 10 tracks that sail through the most different rhythms, but with the particular arrangement of Jamaican sound. The production is signed by Thiago Stancev.

Songs by Chitãozinho and Xororó, Djavan, Raul Seixas, Titãs, Alceu Valença, among other Brazilian artists, are part of the tenth career record. The chosen ones were “Epitáfio”, “O vento”, “Péssimo negócio”, “Te devoro”, “Evidências”, “Metamorfose ambulante”, “Anunciação”, “Na rua, na chuva, na fazenda,” “À francesa” and “Noite do prazer.”
“A project that has our face. Being able to gather songs that are part of our stories and give them a new look was an almost sensorial experience ”, explains Tales de Polli, vocalist of MANEVA.

MANEVA fans already have a date to check out the tracks from the new album in a great show. Next Saturday, July 4th, starting at 8 pm, at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo, the band will perform at the “Arena Sessions” event. Tickets begin to be marketed from June 30th. More information at http://www.arenasessions.com.br. In the Drive in format, MANEVA will make the first show since the beginning of the quarantine, a fact that is very celebrated by the members. “It has always been a dream to play at Allianz Parque and, this time, we are doubly happy! We are going to release the album ‘Tudo Vira Reggae’ and kill the stage nostalgia ”, celebrates drummer Fabinho.

Recorded at Estância Alto da Serra (SP) and following all health protocols, “Tudo Vira Reggae” is the result of the first live broadcast by the band and was directed by Julio Loureiro. In addition to the authors who collect expressive numbers, 350 million streams on digital distribution platforms and 400 million views on YouTube, friends Tales de Polli (voice and guitar), Felipe Sousa (guitar), Fernando Gato (bass), Diego Andrade (percussion) and Fabinho Araújo (drums) included songs full of affective memories.

The success was so great that they found no other way than to offer fans an exclusive rereading album. “MANEVA achieved something very difficult, which is recognition only by the compositions themselves. Undoubtedly, it is an innovative project for that reason. For the first time, the public can hear our ‘B side’, what we like and that had and has a strong influence on our lives ”, says Diego Andrade.

From Pernambuco, Alceu Valença, who is also celebrating his birthday on the 1st of July, MANEVA brought “Anunciação”. The ‘mantra’, as defined by Alceu himself, has spanned generations since it was released in 1983 on the album “Anjo Avesso”. “This song was born in a very spontaneous way. He liked to play the transverse flute. I went out to the street playing, and suddenly, a person who was at home said to me: ‘what beautiful song is this?’ I played a few more times, wrote the lyrics right away, which refers to everything I saw that day. Music represents my view of the world,” said Alceu Valença in an interview about “Anunciação.”

“Metamorfose Ambulante” meaning “Walking Metamorphosis”, was the first to reach the market. Through social media and voting systems, fans chose Raul Seixas’ hit, originally recorded in 1973. “Raul is unanimous, there’s no way. A very important reference and that contributed in a rich way with his unique poetry. So are the other artists that we bring in this musical experience. I invite you to travel with us on ‘Tudo Vira Reggae’, an album that talks about love, memories and longing, but in one rhythm ”, concludes Tales. Watch the clip here:
